一、 offer作動詞的用法:
1. offer有"(主動)拿給,給予"的意思,相當于give, 后可接名詞或代
詞作賓語,也可接雙賓語,即offer sb sth =offer sth to sb, 如: The young man offered the old man his own seat on the bus. 那個年輕人在公共汽車上將自己的座位讓給了那個老人。 Many people willingly offered their blood. 很多人自愿獻血。 No food was offered at the party. 聚會時沒有提供食品。
2. offer作"提出、表示"解。如: Johnson offered a new suggestion. 約翰遜提出了一個新建議。 We all went to offer congratulations. 我們都前去表示祝賀。 The boss in the company came personally to offer us apologies. 那個公司的老板親自來向我們道歉。 The president offered no comment on the question. 總統對這個問題未作評論。
3. offer后接不定式,表示"主動提出做某事"。如: He offered to drive us to the airport, but we preferred to walk there. 他主動提出送我們去機場,但我們寧愿走路去。 She offered to lend me her bike. 她提出將自行車借給我。 The boy offered to pay for the desk he had broken. 那男孩主動提出賠償被他弄壞的桌子。
4. offer還有"出售"、"出價"的意思。 ① offer sth for (money) 以多少錢出售某物 He offered this bike for 600 yuan. 這輛自行車他要價600元。 The next morning we offered our boat for only 6 dollars. 第二天上午我們僅以6美元出售我們的船。 ② offer sb (money) for sth / to buy sth 出價多少購買某物 We offered him 10,000 yuan for his house. 我們愿出一萬元錢來購買他的房子。 They offered him 3,000 yuan to buy the laptop. 他們愿出3,000元來買他的筆記本電腦。
二、 offer作名詞的用法:
1. offer表示愿做某事或給予某物(后接of / to do sth) Thank you for your kind offer of helping me. = Thank you for your kind offer to help me. 謝謝你提供的幫助。` Practise making offers and requests.練習提供幫助和請求。
2. offer有"出價"的意思。如: I've had an offer of $8888 for that house. 有人向我出價8888 美元買那房子。 They made me an offer of ten thousand yuan for my motorbike.= They offered me ten thousand yuan for my motorbike. =They offered to buy my motorbike for ten thousand yuan. 他們肯出一萬元買我的摩托車。

五、 offer + drink/paper
六、 provide + services
七、 offer: 常用詞，意為" 提出，提供，呈現"，表示向別人提供可接受也可拒絕的某物，
如幫助，服務或物品，這可能是對方要求也可能是自己主動提出的。 offer to help sb. offer sb. sth./ offer sth. to sb.
八、 provide: "供給，提供，裝備，準備"，強調有預見，并通過儲存或準備的方式為某事
做準備，以在需要時提供所需物品。常用詞組：provide sb. with sth./ provide sth. for sb. 提供生活費，養活，為……做準備。例如：
九、 supply: "供給，補充，彌補"，著重表示替換或不足所需之物以及彌補缺陷，滿足要求
的意思，還可作名詞，意為“供給(量)，物資，存貨”。
