介詞是英語中很活躍的詞，一般置于名詞之前。它常和名詞或名詞性詞語構成介詞短語。同一個介詞常和不同的詞語搭配形成固定搭配，表示不同意義。

常用介詞的基本用法
at①表示時間：Igotoschoolatseveneveryday我每天早上7點去上學。
②表示在某一具體地點：Heisstandingatthebusstop他站在公共汽車站。
③表示動作的方向、目標：Letmehavealookatthepicture讓我看看這幅圖。
④用于某些固定搭配：atonce立刻、馬上atlast最后
atthesametime同時atfirst開始時notatall一點也不
about①表示大約時間：I'saboutsixo'clocknow.現在大約6點鐘了。
②表示地點;在…周圍Everthingaboutmeissobeautiful我周圍的一切都那么美好。
③關于，對于：Wearetalkingaboutthenews.我們正在談論新聞。
after①在……之后：AfterdinnerIwatchTV.晚飯后我看電視。
②在……后面：Hecameintotheroomafterme.他在我后面進了房間。
behind①在……之后：Thereisabikebehindthetree.樹后有一輛自行車
②比……晚，遲于：Thetrainisbehindtime.火車晚點了
by①在……旁：Heissittingbythebed.他正坐在床邊。

②……的(用于所有格)：Heisafriendofmine.他是我的一個朋友。
③表示數量(與連詞連用)：OneofusisfromBeijing.我們中有一個來自北京
④想到，談到：Ioftenthinkofthem.我常常想到他們。

on①在……上面：Therearesomeappleonthetree.樹上有些蘋果。
②在(星期)天，在某天的上午(下午，晚上)：OnSunday在星期天onSundaymorning在星期天的上午onMarch8在3月8日
③用于某些固定搭配：onduty值日ontime準時
over①在……正上方：Thereisalampoverthetable.桌子上方有一盞燈。
②遍及，穿過：Thereisabridgeovertheriver.有座橋橫跨那條河。
③超過，不止：Sheisalittleover2.她兩歲多了。
to①到，往，向：Hewalkstothewindow.他走向窗戶。
②表示時間、數量，到……為止Pleasecountfromtentothirty.請從10數到30.
③向，對，給：HappyNewYeartoyouall.大家新年好。

①between:在兩者之間Theschoolisbetweenthebankandbookstore.
②among:在三者或者更多的之中TherearesomeAmericanstudentsamongus.
③around:環繞，在…..的周圍，在……的四周

along,across,through
①along:沿著GoalongZhongshanRoadandturnrightatthesecondcrossing.
沿著中山路走然后在第二個十這路口向右拐。
②across:橫過(平面物體)
③through:貫通，通過Thestudentswalkedthroughthegate
口訣1:
年月周前要用in，日子前面卻不行。遇到幾號要用on，上午下午又是in。
要說某日上下午，用on換in才能行。午夜黃昏用at，at用在時分前，
口訣2:
in在……里，out在……外，在旁邊的是beside，靠近的為by。
on在……上，under在……下，above在上頭，below在底下。
口訣3:
①早、午、晚要用in
inthemorning在早上intheafternoon在下午Intheevening在晚上intheday在白天
②黎明、午、夜、點與分用at
atdawn,atdaybreak在黎明時候atnoon在中午atnight在夜間
atsixo'clock在6點鐘at7：30在7點半
③年、月、年月、季節、周用in。
