英語口語中的停頓小詞
不知道大家在看英美劇，或者聽演講采訪的是時候，有沒有留意到那些native說話都會無意中加上一些無意思的詞語，這次詞語不僅表示說話者稍微停頓思考，還可以讓斷斷續續的話聽起來更加連貫。這些詞叫做filler words，就像是我們中文里的“那個、就是說、我的意思”那樣，恰當適量地可以讓你的話聽起來流暢而且地道哦。那么，下面小編就介紹幾個常用的filler words吧。希望對大家有用，更多內容請關注應屆畢業生網!
(1)….well
在口語中，well出現的頻率非常高。它表達的意思也十分豐富：可以表示驚訝、無可奈何、讓步、停頓思考、疑問等等。
e.g. Well, he's strict and I get angry when he doesn't want me to do stuff.
是啊，他很嚴格，當他不讓我去做那些事的時候我就會生氣。
e.g. Well, it may be true. But I find it difficult to believe.
好吧，這也許是真的，不過叫我難以相信。
(2)I mean…
“I mean”我的意思是。通常用于進一步向對方解釋，或者要詳細解說自己說話內容。
e.g. I mean I like both of the companies.
我的意思是這兩家公司我都喜歡。
e.g. I mean you love the couch, why?
我的意思是你愛沙發，為什么?
e.g. I mean, what would that look like?
我是說，那會成個什么樣子了呢?
(3)you know
“you know”在對話中，表示考慮接下來要說的話，意思是：你知道的，比方說，就是說。
e.g. She thought a lot about her appearance, you know, and spent a lot of money on clothes.
她很注重外表，你知道，她買衣服就花了不少錢。
e.g. They are grossing me out too, you know.
你知道，他們對我也并不客氣。
(4)like…
“like”有時候也會說成“so like”，表示所以、就是說、打個比方說 的意思。
e.g. well, like my dad doesn"t let me see R movies, but my mom does.
對啊，就像我爸不讓我看R級電影，但我媽卻允許。
e.g. A: What do you do with your friends?
你和你朋友在一起的時候做什么?
B: We do things like shopping, watching movies, etc. We hang out like twice a week. When we hang out it is really, like, exciting.
我們就是逛街啊，看電影啊什么的。我們差不多一周出去玩兒兩次。我們一起玩兒的時候就是特別開心。
(5)Actually /Basically/ absolutely/ definitely各種副詞
①Actually：實際上;事實上
e.g. Actually I meant to notify you beforehand.
實際上我是想事先通知你的。
②Basically：主要地，基本上
e.g. Basically, you decide what to do from moment to moment.
基本上，你可以隨時決定你要做的事情。
③Absolutely：絕對地;完全地
e.g. I absolutely believe in miracles, and believe that they are all around us, every day.
我絕對相信奇跡，相信它們每天都存在于我們的身邊。
④definitely：清楚地，當然;明確地，肯定地
e.g. "They definitely want this to go away, " he said.
他說：“他們當然想讓這次風波過去。”
e.g. No, definitely not.
不，絕對不會。
