　　GMAT寫作低級高級詞匯替換整理：

　　1.Improve 提高：

　　Promote: 促進AC之間的貿易promote the trade between A and C; He was promoted to senior manager in this company.

　　Advance: our understanding of human genetics has considerably(非常的，可換做vastly) advanced.

　　Enhance: the publicity has enhanced his reputation.這次宣傳提高了他的名望

　　Reinforce: reinforce the interference of the autority and its ability of macroeconomic control 加強政府的干預和宏觀調控能力

　　2.change 改變：

　　Transform:多指改頭換面，完全改變，不能用于形容slight change。說到人口變化：the increasing population has transformed the landscape and structure of local industry structure.人口劇增改變了小鎮的景色以及當地的工業結構

　　3.Emphasize 強調：

　　Highlight：the report highlight the decline in the numbers of native(可以換作local) plants and insects.

　　highlight/emphase the significance/magnitude of… 強調…的重要性

　　Stress: He stresses the need for parents to listen to their children.

　　Accentuate: the crisis accentuates the gap between rich and poor.

　　Address: address the ponderance of manipulating the inosculation between… and… in the right perspective 強調正確處理…關系的重要性

　　(highlight and emphasize 的區別：highlight是告訴人們重點，因而能夠讓別人注意，類似于老師勾重點;而emphasize則是使重點清晰，不管別人是否能注意得到。而stress則和emphasize差不多)

　　4.Develop培養：

　　Cultivate: cultivate the ability of … ;培養情操;cultivate a more relaxed and positive way towards life.

　　Nurture: 養育，同樣可以指培養人才(talents)the sea nutures ample marine animals.

　　5.Break 破壞：

　　Impair：impair ability; 主要是破壞能力，莫亂用。

　　Undermine這個詞也是指的是抽象意義上的破壞，有逐漸削弱之意，重點是循序漸進的過程。Undermine one’s ability/confidence/authority/position/credibility

　　Jeopardize: 不能亂用，破壞的東西要上一定的等級才能配上此詞。比如Jeopardize the process of peace.破壞和平進程

　　Devastate特指毀滅、蹂躪 the earthquake devastated the whole city.

　　6.Keep 保存

　　Preserve、Conserve 保護資源用的就是這個詞，不要用protect，protect這個詞用在保護具體的東西。

　　7.deal With解決

　　Tackle: tackle the problem.

　　Resolve: resolve dispute爭論/conflict沖突/problem/issue/crisis危機;來自拉丁語，比較正式。

　　8.need 需要

　　Require：xxx requires courage and confidence.

　　Necessitate: 用法不簡單，沒有摸透。
