　　At an bike shop

　　Dan: I want to buy a new bicycle pump.

　　Boss: They’re over there. Do you want some cow’s tongue?

　　Dan: Well, I usually have a cast iron stomach, but I think I’ll pass.

　　Boss: No, they’re not real tongue; they’re cookies. See?

　　Dan: Oh, another of those local products?

　　Boss: Yes. We have flattened duck, too.

　　Dan: That’s a duck? It looks like a Frisbee.

　　Boss: Where are you guys riding?

　　Dan: To Hualien County. Can you suggest a good road?

　　在腳踏車行

　　阿丹：我想要買一個新的腳踏車打氣筒。

　　老板：貨在那兒。要不要吃些牛舌餅?

　　阿丹：嗯，通常我的胃就像鐵打的一樣。不過，我想還是算了。

　　老板：不，那不是真的舌頭。只是餅干，看吧!

　　阿丹：喔，又是一項土產?

　　老板：是的`。我們還有鴨賞。

　　阿丹：那是鴨子?看起來好像飛盤。

　　老板：你們一群人要騎去哪里?

　　阿丹：騎到花蓮。你可不可以建議一條好的路線?

　　重點解說：

　　cow’s tongue 牛舌，這里是指宜蘭名產‘牛舌餅’;flattened duck 則是宜蘭名產‘鴨賞’

　　Boss: It does. You gotta get up to 2,600 meters high.

　　Morley:[Looks at Dan shaking head] I think we’ll take a bus.

　　Boss: That’s what I always do.

　　老板：不要走蘇花公路。大卡車很多。

　　莫理：可是那不是唯一的一條路嗎?

　　老板：你們可以從這里騎上山然后下山進入太魯閣峽谷。

　　莫理：聽起來要騎一大堆上坡路。

　　老板：沒錯。你們必須騎到兩千六百公尺高。

　　莫理：(看到阿丹搖搖頭)我想我們還是搭公交車好了。

　　老板：我也是都這么做。
